Our Dorset Garden Centre
Our deceptively spacious displays include everything
you will need to make your garden more beautiful.
We have 4 acres, 2 retail, mainly undercover. You can choose from
a dazzling array of plants, trees, composts, paving/patio slabs,
garden furniture, tools and accessories all neatly
displayed and labelled.
Friendly, helpful advice is never far away and always readily
given from our team of caring, experienced staff.
If you need to know when to plant, how to prune, how to feed,
how to control pests or simply how to pronounce its name we would
love to help! You can even save those "How do we get it home?" worries
and take advantage of our local delivery service.
Plants
Plants really are our passion and no garden however modern can
be without the texture, the colour and the movement plants alone
can offer. We pride ourselves in knowing which plants are suitable
to grow in the local area. The area in which we are situated has
a diverse range of problems to overcome:- Sandy soil, Clay soil,
very alkaline to high acidity, dry or boggy. So we have all types
of plants to suit these conditions.
Herbaceous/ Perennials of all
types, sizes and flowering times and colours, some of which are
grown on site, others sourced locally.
Shrubs, trees and Climbers Evergreen and deciduous, grown on the site, grown locally or
from Europe. We prefer to get locally
but
due to the vast range we stock, we like, many other nurseries
buy from our European friends.
Roses All colours and types
Heathers and Alpines grown locally
Herbs, vegetables and fruit trees all increasing in popularity
as you will get better flavour than available in the shops.
Bedding Plants We use local nurseries to supply us with the tray
bedding plants we sell, but for the pot bedding and hanging basket
plants we grow the majority in our nursery.
Conifers We stock conifers which again we buy locally, they are
not as popular as they once were but are an excellent plant, we
now stock the more unusual varieties as they are making a comeback.
Compost
All our compost is kept undercover and is ordered in regularly
to keep it clean and fresh. This year we have become a "Arthur
Bowers" (Sinclair) Super-stockist, which means we can offer
great prices on top quality compost. We also stock smaller sizes
of compost at reasonable prices for easier handling. Not forgetting
we will help you load your car or deliver to your door.
Garden Furniture
We only purchase furniture we feel is good quality, comfortable
and value for money. P J Bridgman for (Iroko) hardwood, Provincial
for (dawn redwood) Softwood plus Innovations International for
contemporary furniture.
Paving and Aggregates
We stock a large range of paving slabs including those made of
real stone, plus edging stones, stepping stones, walling etc. Supplied
by Bowland Stone and StoneFlair. When you visit check out the
patio kits, they add a new dimension to any patio. All kinds of
bagged aggregates, rockery stone and cobbles available.
Fencing and Trellis
We of course have fencing panels and trellis that are made locally
in 6ft widths to varying heights to 6ft. Other sizes can be made
to order. Tree stakes and fence posts are tanilised for long life
from 1 inch to 3 inch thick, in various lengths to suit every purpose. |
